ISSUES ENCOUNTERED
Root of the heading drift (engine vs render vs missing absolute reference) was unknown; needed a static-fix vs add-diagnostics decision.

SOLUTION
Localised the drift entry point and produced a bounded, reversible diagnostic plan rather than a speculative static change.
